Tata Harrier EV is all set to arrive soon in India while the Sierra ICE and EV variants will be next in line ahead of the Avinya series
Tata Motors is all geared up for the launch of the Harrier EV in India. The much-anticipated launch is set for the coming months. Following this, Tata plans to roll out the Sierra EV, along with its internal combustion engine version in the new fiscal year. However, specific launch dates for both models are yet to be disclosed.
The Tata Sierra may make its debut by the closure of this year in its IC-engined form. Tata may follow a strategy similar to the Curvv lineup, launching the electric version first, followed by the ICE model. Although official specifications are yet to be revealed, the Sierra ICE is expected to come equipped with both petrol and diesel engines.
The near-production Sierra made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January where the production-spec Harrier EV was also displayed. Expected to deliver strong off-road capability, the Harrier EV will come with both single and dual-motor configurations, enabling an all-wheel-drive system.

The 2.0L diesel mill putting out 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque could be utilised in the upcoming Sierra and the transmission options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque AT. Tata Motors might also introduce the long mooted 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine as an option, kicking out 168 PS maximum power.
Both the forthcoming SUVs could be good enough for a claimed range of more than 500 km between charges while the peak torque output could be over 500 Nm. It is worth noting that the Harrier EV and Sierra duo will be packed with features such as Level 2 ADAS, digital instrument console, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and more.

Jaguar Land Rover has reportedly put its plans to produce electric vehicles at Tata Motors’ new USD 1 billion factory in India on hold, citing difficulties in sourcing parts and a drop in demand. It could potentially delay the debut of Tata’s premium Avinya brand which is expected to spawn multiple flagship models by 2026 and 2027.
