The hybrid car market will witness a host of new launches over the next couple of years and here we have mentioned the possible arrivals
The SUV market in India is on the brink of a transformation as automakers embrace hybrid technology to meet the rising demand for fuel economical vehicles. With consumers seeking alternatives to traditional petrol and diesel engines, hybrids are becoming a preferred choice. From Maruti Suzuki to Toyota, Hyundai, Kia and Honda, several carmakers are expected to introduce hybrid SUVs soon. Here’s a closer look at what could be heading to Indian roads:
1&2. Next-Gen Hyundai Creta & 7-Seater Premium SUV:

Hyundai plans to launch the next-generation Creta in the next couple of years with production continuing in Tamil Nadu. A hybrid-petrol variant is expected, using technology from the brand’s upcoming 7-seater premium SUV which will be built at Hyundai’s Talegaon plant. Positioned between the Alcazar and Tucson, this new model will further expand Hyundai’s premium SUV lineup.
3&4. Second-Gen Maruti Suzuki Vitara & Fronx Hybrid:
A camouflaged Maruti Suzuki Fronx bearing a hybrid badge was recently spotted during testing and it could launch in the coming months. Though specifics remain undisclosed, it’s widely known that Maruti has been working on its own hybrid technology. Additionally, the second-generation Grand Vitara has also been seen testing, suggesting design influences from the forthcoming e-Vitara. While its launch is likely later this year, a three-row version is expected to join the lineup in 2026.

Additionally, the next-generation Urban Cruiser Hyryder could share its platform with the upcoming Grand Vitara, featuring enhanced design and upgraded features.
7. Honda ZR-V Hybrid:
Honda recently brought the ZR-V hybrid to the spotlight at a dealer meet in India, fuelling rumours about its possible arrival.
