The Volkswagen Tiguan R Line has finally made its way to India. It’s the third-generation of the Tiguan SUV with improved styling, a more upmarket interior, enhanced safety features and most importantly, a more powerful engine. The SUV comes at an introductory price of Rs 48.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’re all key details of this newly-launched Volkswagen SUV.

Under the hood, the Tiguan R Line houses a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 204PS and 320Nm of torque. The SUV comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an AWD (all-wheel drive) system. Volkswagen claims that the sportier SUV accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 7.1 seconds, and offers a maximum speed of 229kmph. It offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 12.58kmpl.

Volkswagen Tiguan R Line Interior:
The interior of the new Tiguan R Line is generously equipped with advanced features. A freestanding 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment takes centre stage, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with a 10.3-inch digital drivers display, heated front seats with massage function, HUD (heads-up display), 30 colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, triple zone auto AC, leather-wrapped multi-function sports steering wheel, brushed stainless steel pedals and illuminated door handle recesses. The sports seats at the front, with R Line branding, adjustable lumbar support and massage function, enhance its comfort levels.
Volkswagen Tiguan R Line Safety Features:
This new Volkswagen SUV comes with 9 airbags as standard, along with features such as tyre pressure monitoring system, hill descent control, hill start assist, dynamic chassis control Pro, VW’s park assist with park distance control, front and rear disc brakes and a rear parking camera with front and rear parking sensors.
The Tiguan R Line also has Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite, offering features like adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, forward collision avoidance and more.
