Hyundai has posted 1.5 million Creta sales when domestic and export volumes are taken into account
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reinforced its dominance in passenger vehicle exports, shipping 1,63,386 units in FY 2024-25 from its production facility in Tamil Nadu. The new milestone cements its role as a crucial export base for Hyundai Motor Company worldwide. Domestically, it secured the second position in passenger vehicle sales, delivering 5,98,666 units over the financial year.
SUVs remained a stronghold for the Korean auto major, making up 68.5 per cent of total domestic sales. In March 2025 alone, HMIL registered 67,320 units in overall sales, recording a 2.6 per cent growth compared to the previous year. The company also crossed a historic benchmark, surpassing 2.5 million SUV sales and 1.5 million units of the ever-popular Creta across both domestic and export markets.
The midsize SUV strengthened its position as India’s top-selling SUV, recording 52,898 units in sales during the January-March quarter of FY 24-25. Only a few months ago, the Creta’s lineup was expanded with the addition of the Creta Electric. It is currently sold in multiple variants across two battery options, enabling a claimed range of up to 473 km per charge.

Hyundai also introduced new variants and enhanced features for its ICE Creta. With over 1.2 million customers in India, the Creta has remained the undisputed leader in the midsize SUV category for years. Following a major update last year, the 2025 model year brings two new feature-packed variants – SX Premium and EX (O).
Besides these updates, Hyundai has added two new colour schemes across the Creta’s range – Titan Grey Matte and Starry Night. The 2025 Hyundai Creta continues to use the 1.5L four-cylinder petrol, the 1.5L CRDi diesel and the 1.5L turbo petrol engines. The petrol unit kicks out 115 PS maximum power and 144 Nm of peak torque while the diesel mill delivers 116 PS and 250 Nm.

The Hyundai Creta is priced at Rs. 11.11 lakh for the base variant and it goes up to Rs. 20.50 lakh for the top-spec trim (ex-showroom).
