Mahindra & Mahindra has announced its financial year and monthly (March 2025) sales report, showing record-breaking figures. The indigenous automaker registered its highest-ever SUV sales of 5,51,487 units in the FY2025 compared to 4,59,864 units in the last fiscal year. This is the first time Mahindra has crossed the 5 lakh sales milestone in India.
March 2025 Sales:
In March 2025, the home-grown automaker recorded a YoY (year-on-year) sales growth of 23 percent with total sales of 83,894 units. In the domestic market, Mahindra managed to sell 48,048 SUVs, achieving a YoY growth of 18 percent. Total commercial vehicles sales stood at 23,951 units. With such impressive sales figures, Mahindra & Mahindra has emerged as India’s second top passenger vehicle manufacturer by revenue. Furthermore, the Pune-based SUV market recorded the highest Vahan registrations with a 20 percent growth for the financial year.

Commenting on the sales report, Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said, “In March, we sold a total of 48,048 SUVs, with a growth of 18% and 83894 total vehicles, a 23% growth over last year. We also started the deliveries of our Electric Origin SUVs, where we see a strong continued demand momentum. The year ended on a very positive note with us selling over 5 lakh SUVs in the domestic market for the first time ever.”
Mahindra’s Future Plan:
The home-grown automaker aims to expand its product lineup with 23 new vehicles by 2030, including 9 ICE (internal combustion engine) SUVs, 7 BEVs (battery electric vehicles) and 7 light commercial vehicles. For implementation of this plan, the company will invest Rs 37,000 crore.
In the meanwhile, Mahindra is gearing up to launch the XUV3XO EV in the coming months to challenge the segment-leader – the Tata Nexon EV. It will be followed by the Mahindra XEV 7e, which will essentially be electric version of the XUV700 SUV. This electric SUV is likely to arrive towards the end of this year.
